​Who is Synapse?
Synapse is a nonprofit organization working tirelessly to make Florida the world’s next great innovation community, by enabling opportunities for success for all of its community members. When Synapse launched, they identified a few key issues with Florida’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and set out to solve them by connecting, organizing, and celebrating innovations and innovators across the sunshine state.
 
What do they do?
Synapse conducts a wide range of activities in service of their mission, and are constantly looking for new and innovative ways to connect, organize, and celebrate the innovation community across Florida. They seek to feature Florida’s entrepreneurs, investors, educational institutions, corporations, innovation enablers, support organizations, government, and talent in meaningful ways. 
They are most known for Synapse Summit, a yearly gathering designed to bring the entire community together to celebrate, discover, and engage. Over 7,000 attendees have come to Synapse Summit, now in its 4th year.
Beyond events, Synapse is home to Synapse Connect and Synapse Resources, both web platforms designed for people to find what they need and share what they have in an effective manner. 
Synapse is always looking for new ways to innovate to bring the community closer together, enabling further opportunities for success.

  
Who is the audience they cater to?
Synapse caters to eight key audiences, integral to Florida’s innovation ecosystem:
Entrepreneurs – those who are launching companies
Investors – those who are putting finance into companies at different stages
Educational Institutions – universities, research, and schools
Corporations – companies with a presence in Florida looking to innovate or hire talent
Innovation Enablers – service providers who are necessary for businesses to grow
Support Organizations – accelerators, incubators, and co-working spaces
Government – elected or hired officials working to create a positive innovation environment
Talent – those looking for jobs or the next stage of their career

What is the passion behind what they do?
 Synapse is proud to call Florida home, and wants to cultivate the best opportunities possible for their home state. Florida, at times, is painted in a poor light, giving it an unwarranted bad reputation. Synapse believes Florida is one of the best states to live, work, and play. They want to encourage those within the state to stay here, grow here, and invest here. “We want others from the outside to join us and be a part of our growth!”, says Brian Kornfeld – CEO & Co-Founder of Synapse.
 
From a hiring perspective what is their foot print?
 Synapse’s footprint for hiring is across the State of Florida. They exist to service the state and prefer to hire local talent.
